I hope everyone had a great Independence Day!  I finally got to take a couple days off, relax, and take a little trip to Ohio’s capitol- Columbus.  Since I enjoyed my travels, I wanted to show off these great travel bags, perfect for summer vacations or even trips to the grocery!  The yellow bag is printed with “Brenden Tours” and has a brown and yellow nylon strap.  The red bag is marked “AAA Auto Club South” and if finished with perfect white piping.  The blue bag is branded “Cartan Since 1899” and has a fantastic metal zipper.  The nylon bags all have a shoulder strap, side pockets, and feet on the bottom .  Plus there’s spots for you to write you name and address on the bottom of each bag! The bags are in Atomic Number Ten now!  Blue bag- $16, Red bag- $17, Yellow bag- $16.

Looking for vintage red, white and blue finds to complete your 4th of July party?  We’ve got you covered at Atomic Number Ten, with pieces ranging from unique retro necklaces to a vintage Kodak 1972 Olympic Games camera bag and from a handmade eagle and flag coaster set to a patriotic vintage trucker hat.  We’ll help you bring some one-of-a-kind style to your Independence Day gatherings, so stop in tomorrow!  11am-7pm.

p.s. we’ll be closed Sunday, July 4th and Monday, July 5th. Enjoy your celebrations!

For those of you that haven’t heard the story behind our name,  Atomic Number Ten, I thought you may be interested.  When brainstorming the name, it was important for me to capture the identity of a fresh, new vintage store with a funky, unique name.  I’ve always loved fashions from the 1980’s, especially the plethora of neon colors that can always make you smile!  While also being a bit of a science nerd in high school, I looked to the period table of elements for inspiration.  And the element Neon happens to have an atomic number of ten.  And that’s how Atomic Number Ten was born and the reason for the vintage chemistry decor in the store!

Also, a special congrats to Park+Vine, which will be moving to Main Street late September! We can’t wait to have them as a neighbor!  http://www.parkandvine.com/?p=3931

This fabulous vintage lounge set has returned to Atomic Number Ten!  We found the furniture at an estate sale last fall and it was adopted by a neighbor of Atomic Number Ten.  Sadly, the owner has moved but now we’ve got it back in the store and it’s ready to find a new home.  The patio set is includes 2 loveseats, 2 chairs, and a two tiered coffee table!  The seating is covered in a mid-century atomic green and gray patterned vinyl!   All for just $300.

We’ve been rearranging things at Atomic Number Ten to make some room for lots of new vintage treasures.  Here is my favorite new set up in the store - complete with a vintage Ranally Simplified World Map and a pair of 70’s lamps and end tables!  I found the map at local estate sale and looks to have had plenty of use.  But it has found the perfect home here at our store!

And don’t forget- tonight is Final Friday in Over-the-Rhine and we’ll be open until 10:30pm!

We’ve got a bunch of new items at Atomic Number Ten including housewares and clothing for men and women!  With Father’s day coming up, I decided to feature these great vintage metal beer trays.  Each tray is $15 and in the store now!

Blatz beer was founded in 1846 in Milwaukee until 1958 when Pabst purchased the brand.  It is now produced by Miller Brewing Company via the Pabst Brewing Company.  Schlitz was founded in Milwaukee in 1849 and is still produced today.  The Schlitz beer tray is dated 1971 and has some rust, but I think has the most character.  Budweiser was introduced in 1876 by Anheuser-Busch as the first truly American Beer.
