Check out our vintage Gilbert Chemistry Kit!  These were made in the mid 1950’s through 1960’s and the metal carrying case was packed full of chemicals for your experimenting enjoyment.  The Experiment Kit is a complete set with all of the original chemicals, although some have corroded the case, the guide book, molecular model kit, litmus paper, and measuring spoons!

And you’ve gotta love the tag line: “today’s adventures in science will create tomorrow’s America”

We’ve got a fabulous vintage snack set in the store now.  This set was made in Japan and has cups for potato chips, pretzels, snacks and nuts.  I’m not sure what should occupy the snack option, but I guess that’s for you to decide!  And with the clever stacking you only need a lid at the top to keep everything fresh and tasty.

The snack set is at Atomic Number Ten now for $24!

Check out our new vintage watchmaker’s cabinet! Made by the Germanow-Simon Co, the cabinet is complete with 17 plastic divided drawer’s and 1 larger metal drawer. Plus there’s a foot pedal at the bottom of the cabinet for installing crystals over the face of the watch.  There’s even a document holder on the side of the cabinet!

The cabinet is perfect for organizing crafting items, jewelry, beads, etc!  At Atomic Number Ten now, for $90.

The past 2 days, I’ve been driving trough Kentucky on the 127 Yard Sale, the World’s Longest Yard Sale!  Along the way, I picked up a retro table and chairs set, an industrial watch cabinet, 2 vintage globes, old cola crates, an antique spice rack and tons of other things!  Here’s a couple photos from the trip. There was a range of items from pure junk to true antiques, so I tried to find the most unique items for Atomic Number Ten!

Stop by and check out the new items during Second Sunday tomorrow!  We’ll be open 12pm-5pm!

Atomic Number Ten has now been open 10 months!  I cannot believe it’s been this long and I often get asked how the store got started, so here’s the short version!  In winter of 2009, I decided that I would open a vintage store after graduating from the University of Cincinnati.  For my senior thesis project at DAAP, I developed the brand identity, layout of the store, and the accessories wall featuring the female and male skeletons.  I had already begun to look at spaces in Over-the-Rhine and Clifton and after seeing 1306 Main Street, I knew it was perfect!  I graduated in June 2009, signed a lease a couple months later and opened the store for Final Friday in September 2009.

It was a pretty quick journey filled with more surprises than I ever would have guessed, but I’ve had so much fun!  I hope that you enjoy the store, it’s my dream turned into reality!! :)

1990 Design Patent Cruet Set by Guzzini Guzzini Insert

This cruet set a provides organization for your oil, vinegar, salt and pepper!

A design patent was filed in 1987 for this Cruet Set designed by Ambrogio Rossari and produced by Guzzini.  The patent was awarded in 1991 and we now have the condiment set at Atomic Number Ten!  It has never been used and comes in the original box.  The insert shows the whole line of condiment accessories produced by Guzzini, at the time.  Guzzini is an Italian based manufacturing company, with a focus on plastics and is still in business selling kitchenwares.

And don’t forget this Sunday is Second Sunday in OTR!  Check out the website for the details!

New items at Atomic Number Ten now!  My sister and I took a trip to Indianapolis on Tuesday and filled the car to the brim with all kinds of vintage goods!  Here’s a sampling of what we found- a 1972 Bengal Tiger salt and pepper shaker, a collection of retro clocks, a sweet postal scale circa 1968, a green art deco-style salt and pepper shaker and what looks to be a bear yawning while carrying salt and pepper acorns!  Some other great vintage finds include new women’s and men’s shoes, t-shirts, and jackets.

The rummage-o-rama sale is still happening and new items are added to the $5 or under suitcases every day!  See you tomorrow night for Final Friday, we’re here until 10:30pm and Cafe de Wheels will be grilling outside the store!!!
